Custom Drive Shafts & Stub Axles

When the standard shaft breaks – or simply no longer exists – we machine a replacement. Any length, any spline profile, from a single billet of high-strength steel. To your drawing, from a sample, or measured off the car.

What we machine

Drive shafts, half shafts and stub axles – individually or as a set, for vehicles that vanished from the parts catalogue decades ago and for applications that never had a catalogue in the first place:

From a single billet, heat-treated

The decisive difference is in the construction: our shafts are machined from a single billet of high-strength steel – not welded, not joined – and then properly heat-treated. Splines are cut on our own machines and ground on request.

The result is a shaft dimensioned for your application instead of a series-production compromise: increased engine output, motorsport use, changed geometry from lowering or conversion – the shaft is engineered for exactly that load.

From sample to shaft

Send us the original shaft – broken is fine – or a drawing. We take dimensions, spline data and material requirements, create the CAD drawing in DWG/DXF format if needed, and machine the part entirely in-house. On request we also install the shaft and take care of the related setup work.

Common questions

01 What do you need from me to make a shaft?

Ideally a drawing in DWG or DXF format – which we can also create ourselves. A sample works just as well, for example the broken original shaft. We take all dimensions and spline data from it.

02 Why do standard shafts break with more power?

Standard shafts are dimensioned for standard power and standard geometry. More torque, wider wheels or changed drive angles – from lowering, for instance – exceed the reserves. Our shafts are machined from a single billet of high-strength, heat-treated steel and dimensioned for the actual load case.

03 Can the shaft be a different length than the original?

Yes, any length is possible – for maximum lowering without fouling the chassis, or for conversions with changed track width. The spline profile at each end is your choice.

04 Do you also make stub axles?

Yes, in various materials to drawing, sample or pattern – including versions for Löbro joints, Porsche 915 and 930 gearboxes, and Nardella-type stub axles for the 901, 904, 908, 910 and 917.
