Clutch plate stack of a limited-slip differential with oil film

Clutch-Type Limited-Slip Differentials

Our limited-slip differential is a high-grade new production on the ZF principle – CrMo steel, weight-optimised, fully configurable. It swaps 1:1 for the standard differential; all original bearings and seals are reused.

The concept

The differential works on the proven ZF principle: pressure rings with defined ramp angles compress a clutch pack as soon as drive torque is applied. The result is a repeatable, serviceable locking action – no electronics, no special oils, no surprises.

Configurable are:

Material and quality

Every load-bearing component is made from high-grade CrMo steel, weight-optimised and machined in-house. The internals – pressure rings, side gears, plates and shafts – are ZF-compatible. That means we can also recondition an existing original ZF unit using our parts.

The differential is competition-proven – rally, circuit, hill climbs and historic events such as the Histo Monte – and suitable for building homologated historic racing gearboxes.

Service for existing units

You do not need to buy a new differential to benefit from this workshop:

One-off builds

For vehicles outside the standard programme we build limited-slip differentials as one-offs – from a drawing, a sample or a supplied pattern. From taking the measurements to the ready-to-install differential, everything stays in one workshop.

Common questions

01 Which locking value should I choose?

It depends on the use – circuit, rally, hill climb and road put different demands on the diff. The locking value can be set between 25 and 75 %, and different ramp angles for drive and coast side are available. We advise on your specific application before you order.

02 Does anything on the gearbox need modifying?

No. The unit swaps 1:1 for the standard differential, reusing the original Porsche bearings and seals. On request we handle the installation including a fresh ring-and-pinion setup.

03 Is it eligible for historic motorsport?

The differential is suitable for building homologated historic racing gearboxes and is proven in competition – rally, circuit, hill climb, Histo Monte.

04 What happens when the clutch pack wears?

Every internal part – plates, pressure rings, side gears, shafts – is available individually as a spare. That makes a refresh predictable and comparatively inexpensive, and a change to a different setup is possible at any time.

05 My car is not in the list. Can you still help?

Usually yes. From a drawing, sample or pattern we build one-off limited-slip differentials for almost any vehicle – including classics outside Porsche, such as vintage Mercedes.
